What is Ping Pong 3D?
Ping Pong 3D is a free browser table tennis game in which you stand at one end of a bright green table, move an orange bat with your mouse or finger, and rally a yellow ball over the net against an opponent with a blue bat. The view is from behind your own bat, looking down the table, which makes it feel far closer to the real sport than a side-on paddle game.
The opening screen is the table itself. A white cartoon hand slides back and forth across your bat to show the one thing you need to know โ drag to move โ while a gear and a speaker sit in the top-right corner, a trophy with the number 01 in the bottom-left and a gem counter in the bottom-right. There is no menu to get through before the first serve.
Once a rally starts the corner buttons change to pause and sound, and two star outlines appear above the far end of the table. The ball leaves a soft trail as it comes towards you, your bat tilts as you move it, and the opponent's bat tracks the ball at the other end. Ping Pong 3D is simple to control and quick to punish a bat that is in the wrong place.
It was added to the GamePix catalogue in January 2025 and runs in an 800ร600 frame that works in either orientation. The backdrop is a wash of orange and violet cloud, the table is a clean turquoise, and the whole thing is one of the most polished-looking games in our bat-and-ball collection.
How to play Ping Pong 3D
- 01
Drag the bat
The hand animation on the opening screen shows the control: press on your orange bat and move left or right. The bat follows your pointer or your finger.
- 02
Meet the serve
The yellow ball comes over the net towards you. Put the bat in its path and the ball is returned down the table.
- 03
Place your return
Where the bat is when it meets the ball decides where the return goes. Move across the ball to send it wide of the blue bat.
- 04
Watch the far end
Your opponent plays with a blue bat at the top of the screen. If it is over to one side, the open half of the table is your target.
- 05
Keep the rally alive
A ball that gets past your bat ends the point. Two buttons then appear on the table: a double arrow and a cross.
- 06
Continue or quit
Going by their icons, the double arrow carries on and the cross backs out. The trophy number and the gem counter stay in the corners between points.
Controls
Ping Pong 3D is controlled by moving the bat directly. On desktop, move the mouse and the orange bat goes with it; on a phone or tablet, drag a finger along the near end of the table. There are no keys to press and no swing button โ the bat plays the ball on contact. During a rally, the pause button and the speaker button sit in the top-right corner. On the opening screen the same corner holds a settings gear instead.
Objective
Win rallies. Return the ball over the net so that the blue bat cannot reach it, and do not let it past your own. The interface keeps three counters โ a pair of stars above the table, a trophy number that reads 01 at the start, and a gem total that starts at 00 โ which are there to record how you are doing. The catalogue listing describes several modes in which to outplay opponents.
Game modes & features
Ping Pong 3D is presented as a table seen from behind the player, with a net, a centre line and a second bat at the far end. Interface elements are a settings gear and sound toggle on the opening screen, pause and sound during play, star outlines above the table, a trophy counter and a gem counter. After a lost point the table shows a double-arrow button and a cross. A hand animation serves as the tutorial.
Why play Ping Pong 3D?
Play it if you want the rally of Pong with the feel of an actual table. Because you move the bat itself, there is no layer of buttons between you and the ball, and the behind-the-bat view makes placement intuitive: aim where the other player is not. Ping Pong 3D also works equally well with a mouse or a thumb, which is not true of the keyboard Pong games.
Ping Pong 3D tips
Keep the bat moving
In Ping Pong 3D the bat follows your pointer continuously. Small, steady movements keep it under the ball; large, late swipes overshoot.
Watch the ball, not the bat
Your hand will follow your eyes. Track the yellow ball from the moment it leaves the blue bat and let the orange one take care of itself.
Return to the centre line
The table has a white line down the middle. Bring your bat back to it after every shot so that either side is within reach.
Use the pause button
The pause button in the top-right corner stops a rally without ending it. Use it if you need to adjust your grip or your screen.
Play to the open side
Look at where the blue bat is before the ball reaches you. If it is on the left, meet the ball so that your return travels right, and the reverse.
Move through the ball
Try meeting the ball with the bat already travelling sideways, and watch how far the return is carried in that direction. If it responds, that is your way to angle a shot into a corner.
Change direction on consecutive shots
Two returns to the same side let your opponent settle. Alternate corners and the blue bat has to cover the full width of the table each time.
Follow the trail
The ball leaves a faint trail on its way down the table. The trail shows the line it is on, which tells you where to be before the ball arrives.
What makes Ping Pong 3D special
Ping Pong 3D looks and feels more finished than most browser sports games. The table has depth, the bats tilt as they move, the ball has a shadow and a trail, and the painted-sky backdrop gives the scene a warmth that a flat court never has. It is an easy game to like on first sight.
The control scheme in Ping Pong 3D is the right one. Direct bat movement removes the usual gap between deciding where to be and getting there, so a point lost is a point you misread, not a key you fumbled. That keeps rallies tense and fair, and it means the game is as playable on a phone as on a desktop.
Table tennis is where this whole corner of gaming began. The first hit video game, Pong, was an electronic version of it, and the classic Brick Breaker on our home page is what Pong became when the opponent was replaced by a wall. If you want the original flat version, Pong Game Classic Arcade Fun has a two-player mode, and Medieval Pong and Pong with Powers each add a twist.

Ping Pong 3D FAQ
QHow do you control the bat in Ping Pong 3D?
Move it directly. With a mouse, the orange bat follows the pointer; on a touchscreen, drag a finger along your end of the table. There is no swing button โ the bat returns the ball on contact. A hand animation on the opening screen demonstrates the movement.
QWho do you play against in Ping Pong 3D?
An opponent with a blue bat at the far end of the table. It moved and returned shots without any input from us, so it is controlled by the game. We saw no option on screen for a second human player.
QWhat do the trophy and gem counters mean in Ping Pong 3D?
They are progress counters shown in the bottom corners. The trophy reads 01 on the opening screen and the gem total starts at 00. Two star outlines also appear above the table during a rally. The game does not explain them in text.
QWhen was Ping Pong 3D released?
It was published to the GamePix catalogue on 31 January 2025. It is an HTML5 game in an 800ร600 frame that the catalogue lists as playable in either orientation, on desktop or mobile.
QHow do you win a rally in Ping Pong 3D?
Return the ball to the part of the table the blue bat is not covering. Check which side your opponent is on as the ball comes to you, and move your bat across the ball so that the return goes the other way.
QIs Ping Pong 3D the same as Pong?
It is the sport that Pong was based on. Atari released Pong in November 1972 as a side-on simulation of table tennis with two paddles. Ping Pong 3D shows a realistic table from behind the bat, but the aim โ get the ball past the other player โ is the same.
QCan you play Ping Pong 3D on a phone?
Yes, the control suits it. The bat is moved by dragging, which is what the on-screen hand animation shows, and the catalogue lists the game as working in any orientation. We tested it with a mouse on desktop.
QWhat games are similar to Ping Pong 3D?
Pong Game Classic Arcade Fun is the flat, two-paddle original with a two-player mode. Medieval Pong and Pong with Powers are single-player variations on it. For a one-player bat-and-ball game with a wall to break, try the classic Brick Breaker on our home page.
