What is TenTrix?
TenTrix is a free block puzzle game where you drag colorful shapes onto a 10x10 grid and clear full rows or columns to keep the board from filling up.
If you love Tetris but want a calmer, more strategic pace, TenTrix is a fresh twist on the idea. Instead of pieces falling from the top, you are handed three shapes at a time and you decide exactly where each one goes. Nothing drops on its own, so every move is deliberate.
The challenge comes from space management. The grid only holds so much, and once you place all three shapes a new set appears. Plan ahead, keep your lines open, and you can chain clears for a long, satisfying run.
How to play TenTrix
- 01
Look at your three shapes
Each round gives you three polyomino shapes of different sizes and colors. Study them before you start placing.
- 02
Drag a shape onto the grid
Pick a shape and drag it onto the 10x10 board. It will snap into place on empty cells where it fits.
- 03
Clear lines
Fill an entire horizontal row or vertical column to clear it. Any complete line in either direction disappears and frees up space.
- 04
Place all three shapes
Once you have placed all three shapes from the current set, a brand new set of three appears for you to position.
- 05
Keep the board open
Avoid clogging the grid. Leave room for larger shapes so you always have somewhere to place the next set.
- 06
Play until you run out of room
The game ends when a shape has no valid space left on the board. Aim to clear lines efficiently to keep going as long as possible.
Controls
TenTrix is played by dragging and dropping. On a computer, click and hold a shape with the mouse, then drag it onto the grid and release. On a phone or tablet, press a shape with your finger and slide it into position. There is no rotation, so the shape always lands exactly as shown.
Objective
Your objective is to keep placing shapes for as long as you can. You do this by clearing complete rows or columns to make room. The game has no finish line, so the goal is to outlast the board and build the highest score you can before you run out of space.
TenTrix tips
Fill from the edges
Place shapes along the borders of the grid first. This keeps the center open and flexible for the larger pieces you will get later.
Clear lines early
Don't hoard shapes hoping for a big combo. Clearing rows and columns as soon as you can frees up space and keeps the board safe.
Place the biggest shape first
When you get a new set of three, position the largest shape first. Big pieces are the hardest to fit, so handle them while you still have room.
Set up double clears
Try to fill cells that complete a row and a column at the same time. Clearing both directions in one move opens up a lot of space at once.
Leave a flexible gap
Keep at least one open zone that can swallow an awkward shape. Reserving a buffer prevents a dead end when you draw a piece that doesn't fit neatly.
Read all three before moving
Plan the placement of the whole set before you drag the first piece. Knowing where all three will land helps you avoid blocking yourself.
What makes TenTrix special
TenTrix takes the familiar joy of fitting blocks together and removes the time pressure of falling pieces, leaving pure spatial strategy. Because the shapes don't rotate, every decision is about where, not how, which makes the puzzle approachable yet deep.
The 10x10 grid and clear-any-direction rule create a constant balancing act between filling space and freeing it. It plays smoothly on both PC and mobile, making it an easy game to pick up for a few minutes or settle into for a long high-score chase.

QHow do you play TenTrix?
You drag three given shapes onto a 10x10 grid, one at a time. Filling a complete row or column clears it and makes space. When all three shapes are placed, a new set appears, and the game continues until a shape can no longer fit.
QIs TenTrix unblocked?
TenTrix is a browser-based game that loads as a normal web page, so it works wherever browser games are allowed. Whether it opens on a specific school or work network depends on that network's filtering settings.
QDo the pieces fall like in Tetris?
No. Unlike Tetris, the pieces in TenTrix do not fall on their own and cannot be rotated. You place each shape exactly where you choose, which makes the game more about planning than reaction speed.
