Brick Breaker Games
Brick breaker games are arcade games in which you bounce a ball into a wall of bricks and try to destroy every one โ either by steering a paddle to keep the ball in play, as in Atari's 1976 Breakout, or by aiming volleys of balls from a launcher. BrickBreaker.app has 27 of them, all free to play in your browser with no download.
They are grouped below by how they play, so you can go straight to the kind you like. New to the genre? Start with the classic Brick Breaker on our home page, then try Block Breaker.

Brick breaker games FAQ
QWhat are brick breaker games?
Brick breaker games are arcade games in which you bounce a ball into a wall of bricks and try to destroy every one. In most you steer a paddle to keep the ball in play; in the newer ball-launcher kind you aim volleys of balls instead. This page lists all 27 on BrickBreaker.app.
QIs Breakout the same as brick breaker?
Breakout is where it started. Atari released it on 13 May 1976 as a one-player version of Pong, with a paddle, a ball and a wall of bricks. Brick breaker is the everyday name for the whole genre that followed, including Taitoโs Arkanoid of 1986 and the games on this page.
QWhat is the difference between paddle and ball-launcher brick breakers?
In a paddle game you move a bat along the bottom of the screen in real time and lose when the ball gets past it. In a ball-launcher game there is nothing to catch: you choose an angle, fire a volley at numbered bricks, and lose when the bricks reach the bottom.
QWhich brick breaker games are best on a phone?
The 9 built for a portrait screen fit an upright phone best: Brick Breaker Classic Arcade Fun, Simply Breakout, Brick Breaker Retro, Brick Frenzy, Bricks Breaker Deluxe, Balls Bricks Breaker, Cartoon Bricks, Brick Breaker Endless and Idle Gravity Breakout. Brick Frenzy also puts all its controls on on-screen buttons.
QWhich brick breaker games have power-ups?
Block Breaker Game has blasters to collect, Galaxy Bricks and Brick Breaker Classic Arcade Fun drop power-ups from broken bricks, Brick Breaker Blitz has falling tokens to catch, and Toy Space Bricks Breaker offers three boosters before every stage.
QWhich brick breaker game should I play first?
Start with the classic Brick Breaker on our home page, then try Block Breaker. If you want to see how the ball-launcher style differs, Bricks Breaker Deluxe is a good first one, and Simply Breakout is the purest version of the 1976 design.
