What is Block Crush Challenge?
Block Crush Challenge is a free drag-and-drop block puzzle for the browser in which you place pieces on an 8ร8 board, fill complete rows or columns to crush them, and build up coins through a six-day reward calendar.
The first thing Block Crush Challenge shows is not the board but a Daily Rewards card under a rainbow. Six days are laid out with their prizes, 2 coins on day 1 and then 10, 20, 30, 40 and 80 on days 2 to 6, and a green Thanks! button collects the first. Our coin counter rose from 10 to 12 when we pressed it.
Behind the card, Block Crush Challenge has a short menu: the logo with a crown perched on top, a round lucky-wheel icon carrying a red alert badge, two mode buttons labelled CLASSIC and ADVENTURE, and a settings gear in the corner. Classic opens straight onto the board, where a tutorial hand highlights a column to fill on the very first move.
Block Crush Challenge joined the GamePix catalogue in May 2025, which makes it one of the newest block puzzles on the site, and it runs in a portrait 600ร800 frame. Its catalogue listing also promises global competition. We did not see a leaderboard in our session, so treat that part as the publisher's description rather than ours.
How to play Block Crush Challenge
- 01
Collect the daily reward
Press Thanks! on the Daily Rewards card. In our session a quick click did nothing and a slightly longer press worked, and two coins were added to the counter.
- 02
Choose Classic
Pick CLASSIC on the Block Crush Challenge menu for the standard board. ADVENTURE sits directly underneath it as the second mode.
- 03
Follow the first hint
On the opening move a hand highlights one column of the 8ร8 board. Filling it with the pieces offered is the quickest way to see a crush happen.
- 04
Drag pieces from the tray
Three pieces wait in a tray below the Block Crush Challenge board. Press one, drag it onto the grid and release it where every cell lands on an empty square.
- 05
Complete rows and columns
According to the catalogue listing, a filled row or column vanishes and scores points. Lines count in both directions, so look across and down.
- 06
Keep room for the next set
Line-clear games of this kind end when none of the offered pieces fits. Leave open space each turn so the next three still have somewhere to go.
Controls
Everything in Block Crush Challenge is done by pressing and dragging. Pick a piece up from the tray, move it over the board and release it; on a phone the same gesture should work with a finger. There is no keyboard control. In our desktop session a fast click on the Thanks! button was ignored while a press held for a moment went through, so if a button seems unresponsive, hold it a little longer. The settings gear on the menu and the coin counter at the top right of the board complete the interface.
Objective
Fill whole rows and whole columns of the 8ร8 board so they crush and free up space, and keep placing pieces for as long as the board allows. The GamePix listing says the vanishing blocks earn points. Around that core sits a coin economy: the daily calendar pays out on each visit, and the lucky wheel on the menu suggests another way to earn, although we did not spin it. Block Crush Challenge rewards both a good run and a regular habit.
Game modes & features
The menu offers two modes. Classic is the open board we played, with a tutorial hand on the first move, a coin counter and a tray of three pieces. Adventure is the second button; we did not open it, so we cannot say how it differs. Other features are the Daily Rewards calendar, which runs over six days and climbs from 2 coins to 80, the lucky-wheel icon with its alert badge, and a settings gear. The listing adds global competition, which we did not see in Block Crush Challenge.
Why play Block Crush Challenge?
Play it if you like a puzzle that rewards coming back. The board is the familiar line-clear format, quick to learn and good for five minutes, but the reward calendar, the lucky wheel and a second mode give it more structure than the plainer games around it. Block Crush Challenge is also one of the freshest titles in the block puzzle collection, added to the catalogue in 2025.
Block Crush Challenge tips
Claim the coins first
Collect the daily reward before you start a run. The six-day calendar climbs to 80 coins on day 6, and the counter on the board shows your balance.
Fill the highlighted column
The tutorial hand marks a column on the first move. Complete it before trying anything ambitious, so you can see exactly how a crush clears the board.
Build along the edges
Place early pieces against the walls of the 8ร8 board and keep the middle open. Large pieces fit far more positions in an empty centre than in a cluttered one.
Read the whole tray
Look at all three pieces before placing the first. The order matters: a big piece that only fits now should go before a small one that fits anywhere.
Set up crossing clears
Leave a single cell open where an almost-full row meets an almost-full column. One piece in that cell can finish both lines in Block Crush Challenge.
Save single squares for single holes
The tray in Classic included a one-cell piece. Keep a lone gap only if you expect a piece like that, because nothing larger will ever fill it.
Keep one long lane clear
Long bars, like the three-cell piece we were dealt, need an unbroken run of empty cells. Protect at least one such lane until a bar arrives.
Work two lines at once
Build two neighbouring rows or columns together. Pieces two cells thick then complete both at the same time, which clears space twice as fast.
What makes Block Crush Challenge special
Block Crush Challenge is the most fully featured of the line-clear games on this site. Where Color Blocks is a bare board and a score, this game adds a coin calendar, a lucky wheel and a second mode, the kind of structure usually found in mobile puzzle apps. The board itself stays simple: eight by eight, three pieces at a time.
It shares its board size with 8x8 Block Puzzle and Color Blocks, which makes the three an easy comparison. 8x8 Block Puzzle adds a timer bar, Color Blocks scores every cell you place, and Block Crush Challenge wraps the same grid in a daily routine. If you prefer a larger field, TenTrix and TenTrix Blast both use a 10ร10 grid.
The game is also a good illustration of how far the format has travelled from its arcade roots. Block Breaker on our home page breaks a wall apart with a ball; Block Crush Challenge builds lines up so they can be crushed, and pays you coins for showing up the next day.

Block Crush Challenge FAQ
QHow many coins does the Block Crush Challenge daily reward give?
The calendar shows six days: 2 coins on day 1, then 10, 20, 30, 40 and 80 coins on days 2 to 6. Claiming day 1 in our session took the coin counter from 10 to 12.
QWhat modes does Block Crush Challenge have?
Two, both on the main menu: Classic and Adventure. We played Classic, an open 8ร8 board with a tray of three pieces. We did not open Adventure, so we cannot describe how its levels or rules differ.
QHow big is the Block Crush Challenge board?
Eight cells by eight in Classic mode. Pieces arrive three at a time in a tray beneath the board, and on the first move a tutorial hand highlights a column for you to fill.
QHow do you clear blocks in Block Crush Challenge?
Fill a complete row or a complete column. The catalogue listing says those blocks vanish and score points, and the opening tutorial demonstrates it by highlighting a single column to fill with the pieces you are given.
QHow do you get past the Daily Rewards screen in Block Crush Challenge?
Press the green Thanks! button under the calendar. In our session a quick click did not register, but holding the press for a moment did, and the game moved on to its main menu.
QIs Block Crush Challenge the same as Block Blast?
No. Block Blast! is Hungry Studio's game, launched on iOS in April 2022. Block Crush Challenge is an independent title in the same drag-and-drop line-clear genre, with its own coin calendar, lucky wheel and Adventure mode.
QCan you play Block Crush Challenge on a phone?
The design points that way. It plays in a portrait 600ร800 frame, and every action is a press or a drag, both of which suit a touch screen. Our testing was done in a desktop browser rather than on a handset, so treat that as likely rather than confirmed.
QWhat games are similar to Block Crush Challenge?
8x8 Block Puzzle and Color Blocks use the same eight-by-eight board. TenTrix Blast offers four modes on a 10ร10 grid, and Jewel Blocks Quest adds gem graphics and an undo button to the same line-clear idea.
