What is Wood Block Puzzle - Block Game?
Wood Block Puzzle is a free browser block puzzle with four modes, Classic, Time, Blast and Advance, in which you fit wooden blocks onto a square board and break full lines for a high score.
A ring of green dots and the word Loading come first. Then Wood Block Puzzle shows its title: the name in outlined letters on a warm wooden panel, a single Start button in the middle, and a small settings gear in the bottom-left corner of the frame.
Start opens a Select Mode card with four buttons, Classic, Time, Blast and Advance, and a close button in its corner. Time mode began with a short card explaining its twist, telling us to watch the timer and break lines to increase the time. Once it closed, the board appeared with the pieces waiting in a tray below.
The game runs in a landscape 800×600 frame, with the board centred and a trophy score at the top. Wood Block Puzzle has been in the GamePix catalogue since November 2024. Its listing also mentions bombs and intricate shapes, which we did not meet in our session, so we attribute them to the publisher.
How to play Wood Block Puzzle - Block Game

Wait for the green loading ring to finish, then press Start on the Wood Block Puzzle title panel.

Choose Classic, Time, Blast or Advance from the Select Mode card. Classic is the natural place to start; the names of the other three hint at their twists.

Controls
Wood Block Puzzle is played with drag and drop. Press on a block in the tray beneath the board, carry it over an empty area and let go; on a touch screen the same gesture should work with a finger. No keyboard is needed. The title screen's settings gear sits in the bottom-left corner of the frame, and the Select Mode card has a small close button if you want to go back to the title. Because the frame is landscape, the board sits in the middle of a wide wooden backdrop.
Objective
Fit blocks onto the board and break full lines to keep space free and push your score up. The trophy score at the top of the screen tracks the run. In Time mode there is a second objective: the timer is running, and the mode card says breaking lines adds to it, so clears buy you more play. The GamePix listing describes Wood Block Puzzle as aiming for high scores while tackling bombs and intricate shapes; we saw the high-score part and not the bombs.

Keep the centre clear
Place early blocks along the edges of the Wood Block Puzzle board. A clear middle accepts larger shapes that would never fit into a crowded one.

Check all the blocks waiting under the board before you move one. Placing them in the right order is often the difference between a clear and a jam.
Chase clears in Time mode

Keep one full-length line empty for as long as you can. Long blocks need an unbroken run of free cells, and they are the hardest pieces to place late in a run.

Wood Block Puzzle is the block puzzle to open when you cannot decide what kind of game you want. Four modes on one menu cover the calm board, the race against the clock and two variants still to explore, all with the same pieces and the same simple drag.
Its closest relative on the site is TenTrix Blast, which also offers four modes and also names two of them Time and Blast.
